OnePlus is gearing up to redefine smartphone endurance with a groundbreaking new device. According to recent reports, the company is developing a phone with a colossal 9,000 mAh battery, potentially the largest in its segment. This powerhouse, internally known as the OnePlus Turbo, is expected to debut in China first, followed by a launch in India as the OnePlus Nord 6 later in 2026.
OnePlus Turbo / Nord 6: Key Specifications and Features
The defining feature of this upcoming device is its mammoth 9,000 mAh battery. This capacity shatters the records set by the OnePlus 15 (7,300 mAh) and 15R (7,400 mAh), promising exceptional battery life. OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis hinted at this "terrifying" performance and endurance in a Weibo post earlier in December 2025.
As per a report by Android Headlines, the phone will sport a large 6.8-inch 1.5K display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB.
For photography, the device may feature a dual-camera setup on the rear, led by a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front, a 32MP selfie camera is expected, similar to the OnePlus 15 series. Despite the huge battery, charging might be handled by an 80W wired fast charging system, akin to the OnePlus Nord 5. The software is likely to be OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16.
Design and Expected Launch Timeline
Leaked images suggest the design will take cues from the current OnePlus lineup. The camera module is positioned on the left side of the back panel in a "squircle" shape, reminiscent of the OnePlus 15R. The right side houses the volume rockers and power button, while an IR blaster sits on top. The phone is said to have a glossy plastic body and could launch in Black and Blue colour options.
The OnePlus Turbo is anticipated to be unveiled in China around March 2026, with a potential showcase at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. While its rebranding as the OnePlus Nord 6 for the Indian market is confirmed in reports, an exact launch date for India has not been specified yet. This move signifies OnePlus's continued focus on delivering high-performance, long-lasting devices to its value-conscious audience in India.
