Samsung Freestyle+ AI Projector Unveiled: 430 Lumens, Auto-Setup Before CES 2026
Samsung's AI-Powered Freestyle+ Projector Launched

Samsung has kicked off the new year with a significant tech reveal, announcing an upgraded portable projector ahead of the major CES 2026 trade show. The company unveiled the Samsung Freestyle+, a second-generation AI-powered portable projector designed to liberate entertainment from fixed television screens. The global announcement was made on 2nd January 2026, setting the stage for more details at the upcoming CES event.

AI Magic: The Brains Behind Freestyle+

At the core of the new Freestyle+ experience is a suite of intelligent features branded as AI OptiScreen. This system is engineered to tackle common projector hassles automatically. It employs 3D Auto Keystone correction to instantly fix distorted images, even when projecting onto corners or uneven surfaces like curtains.

Furthermore, Real-time Focus ensures the picture remains sharp if the device is moved, while Screen Fit automatically resizes content to fit a screen's boundaries. A particularly clever feature is Wall Calibration, which analyses the colour and texture of the projection surface to optimise image quality and minimise visual distractions, making movies and games appear clearer.

Adding a smart assistant layer is the Vision AI Companion, which integrates an upgraded Bixby with other AI tools. This allows users to find and launch their favourite content using natural voice commands.

Enhanced Hardware for Anywhere Viewing

Retaining the convenient cylindrical form factor of its predecessor, the Freestyle+ remains highly portable. Its 180-degree swivel stand enables effortless projection onto walls, floors, or ceilings without requiring additional equipment.

The most notable hardware upgrade is in brightness. The new model boasts a light output of 430 ISO Lumens, which Samsung claims is nearly double that of the original Freestyle. This makes it suitable for use in rooms with ambient lighting. For audio, it features a built-in 360-degree speaker, and it supports Q Symphony technology for seamless integration with Samsung soundbars, creating a more immersive, layered sound experience.

A Complete Entertainment Hub

Samsung has positioned the Freestyle+ as a standalone entertainment centre. It provides direct access to Samsung TV Plus, popular OTT (Over-The-Top) apps, and the Gaming Hub. This means users can stream movies, watch shows, or play cloud games directly on the projector without needing extra streaming devices or consoles.

While the device has been announced globally, pricing and exact availability details are still under wraps. Samsung has confirmed that this information, along with a hands-on look, will be provided during CES 2026, with a global launch to follow shortly after the event.
