Volkswagen India Unveils Tayron R-Line SUV Details Ahead of 2025 Launch
Volkswagen India has just shared exciting new information about its upcoming Tayron R-Line SUV. This vehicle will become the brand's flagship offering in the Indian market. It sits above the popular Tiguan R-Line in Volkswagen's lineup.
Positioning and Market Entry
The Tayron marks Volkswagen's return to the premium three-row SUV segment. This move comes after the company discontinued the Tiguan Allspace. The new model will feature a seven-seat layout, catering to families and those needing extra space.
Volkswagen plans to bring the Tayron to India through the CKD route. This means the company will assemble the vehicle locally from imported parts. This strategy should help keep the price competitive. Industry experts estimate the ex-showroom price will fall between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 50 lakh.
Launch Timeline and Competition
Mark your calendars for March 2025. That's when Volkswagen expects to launch the Tayron R-Line in India. The SUV will enter a crowded and competitive market segment.
It will face off against several established rivals. These include the Toyota Fortuner, the MG Gloster, and the Jeep Meridian. The Tayron will also compete with the Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming MG Majestor.
