Fortnite RTX Cup Offers $100K & RTX 5080 GPUs

Gamers in India and across the globe have a massive new competitive event to target. Nvidia, in collaboration with Epic Games, is launching the inaugural Fortnite Nvidia GeForce RTX Cup, a high-stakes global tournament with a prize pool exceeding $100,000. The event kicks off on December 21, offering players a shot at cash rewards and highly coveted, limited-edition hardware.

Massive Prize Pool and Exclusive Hardware Rewards

The tournament's total prize pool surpasses $100,000, distributed across seven major regions: North America Central, North America West, Europe, Asia, Brazil, the Middle East, and Oceania. The top finishers in each region will secure cash prizes ranging from $1,000 to $4,000 for first place, with Europe leading the pack with the largest individual rewards.

Beyond cash, the most exciting prizes are twelve custom MSI Gaming Trio White GeForce RTX 5080 graphics cards. These GPUs feature special Fortnite-themed backplates and are valued at approximately $1,000 each. Europe's top four players will each receive one, while the top three in North America Central and the first-place winner in every other region will also claim this exclusive hardware.

How to Qualify and Compete

Participation in the Fortnite RTX Cup is not open to all. Players must meet strict eligibility criteria to enter. Competitors need to have achieved a Gold Rank or higher in any of the ranked modes: Battle Royale Ranked, Zero Build Ranked, or Reload Ranked. Additional requirements include having an Epic Account at level 350 or above, participation in at least 14 Epic tournaments within the last 180 days, and enabled Two-Factor Authentication.

The tournament follows a solo Battle Royale format. Players get a three-hour session window to compete in up to ten matches. Points are awarded based on final placements and eliminations. Even those who don't top the leaderboards have a chance to earn an exclusive in-game cosmetic. Scoring at least eight points during the event unlocks the "Rust Bucket" Back Bling, a reward available only through this competition.

Rules, Restrictions, and Regional Impact

The event has clear geographical and legal restrictions. Notably, residents of Turkey and Russia are prohibited from receiving prizes. Furthermore, participation is restricted for players in countries under U.S. sanctions. The tournament is open to players aged 13 and older, with minors required to obtain parental consent to compete.

For the Indian gaming community, this tournament represents a significant opportunity. As part of the Asia server region, top Indian players can compete for a share of the regional prize pool and the chance to win the flagship RTX 5080 GPU. It underscores the growing importance and professionalization of esports in the country, offering a legitimate pathway to recognition and substantial rewards.

The launch of the Fortnite Nvidia GeForce RTX Cup marks a major investment in the game's competitive scene. By blending substantial cash prizes with cutting-edge, exclusive hardware, it aims to attract the best solo players worldwide and set a new benchmark for gaming tournaments as 2024 comes to a close.
