Maruti Suzuki India is extensively testing the new and updated 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV on Indian roads. Fresh spy shots of the updated Brezza testing on public roads have surfaced online, showing the SUV under heavy camouflage.
Underbody CNG Tank for More Boot Space
The images indicate that the model could receive an underbody-mounted CNG tank, similar to the setup currently offered on the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. This revised placement will free up additional boot space compared to the current CNG version.
Design and Mechanical Updates
The SUV, which entered its second generation in 2022, is expected to receive a facelift as it progresses through its lifecycle. Updates are likely across design, features, and possibly mechanical components. On the mechanical side, the 2026 Brezza is expected to get minor suspension tweaks. One recent test mule was seen with a 6-speed manual gearbox, suggesting that Maruti Suzuki may introduce an additional gear compared to the current setup. This change is likely intended to improve gear ratios for smoother highway cruising.
While there is speculation about the possibility of the 1.0-liter three-cylinder Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx making its way to the Brezza, there has been no official confirmation yet.
Exterior and Interior Changes
Design-wise, the overall silhouette of the car will remain unchanged, but the upcoming version could introduce noticeable revisions to its styling and equipment. In the latest spy shots, the SUV's rear section has been captured. The facelifted model will feature a redesigned front bumper and a refreshed grille. Similar cosmetic tweaks are expected at the rear as well. Interestingly, despite the growing trend of connected tail lamps across new SUVs, the updated Brezza, as per the recent spied image, is not expected to adopt this design element.
Other exterior highlights could include newly styled 16-inch alloy wheels, sleek LED headlamps with DRLs, roof rails, and an integrated rear spoiler.
Inside the cabin, the general layout is likely to stay familiar, but Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce small updates to freshen up the interior. These could include a redesigned center console, new upholstery, and updated trim elements. Spy images also hint at a larger touchscreen infotainment system than the current model.
Expected Features and Equipment
In terms of equipment, the SUV is expected to offer features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, wireless charging, and a premium sound system. Other features likely to continue include a heads-up display, cruise control, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a single-pane electric sunroof, and ventilated front seats.
