India achieved a significant milestone in its defense capabilities with the successful maiden flight of the Tactical Advanced Range Augmentation Weapon System (TARAWS) on May 8, 2026. The test was conducted by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) from a test range off the coast of Odisha.

The TARAWS is an indigenously developed tactical missile system designed to enhance the strike range of existing weapons.
