The Mangalore Rifle Club has officially announced the Second Mangalore Open Shooting Championship 2026, an event that will welcome participants from all corners of India. The championship is scheduled to take place from May 26 to May 30, with preliminary rounds held at the Mangalore Rifle Club in Kadri and the finals conducted at the US Mallya Indoor Stadium.
Objective and Scale of the Event
This championship aims to bring together shooting enthusiasts from across the country, promote the sport at the grassroots level, and provide a competitive platform for aspiring shooters. The event is expected to witness participation from over 600 shooters, making it one of the largest shooting events in the region.
Participation of International-Level Shooters
A major highlight of the championship is the participation of international-level shooters from Karnataka. These accomplished athletes will be felicitated during the event, serving as an inspiration for young and upcoming marksmen, the club stated.
Focus on Armed Forces
Special importance is being given to the Indian armed forces. Shooting athletes from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force have been invited to participate. A separate dedicated event will be conducted to recognize and honor their excellence and contribution to the sport.
