Mojang has released the latest beta and preview build for Minecraft Bedrock, marking one of the most content-rich experimental drops in recent memory. This build is available across various platforms, allowing players to download and test all upcoming features.
Overview of the Beta and Preview
The beta and preview provide an early look at major content arriving with the Chaos Cubed game drop in the coming months. Below is a detailed breakdown of everything new in the Minecraft 26.30.25/26 beta and preview.
Geysers and TNT Sulfur Cubes
The two headline features this week come directly from the upcoming Chaos Cubed game drop. Geysers are now testable in the beta, forming when a Magma block is placed underneath a Sulfur block submerged under one to four blocks of water. They launch players skyward on contact. Mojang has flagged two known issues: Geysers currently lack sounds, and particle animations may appear jerky.
The Sulfur Cube gains a significant new interaction: it can now absorb TNT blocks. Once absorbed, the TNT can be primed via Redstone, fire, or nearby explosions. Fire and Redstone triggering give a six-second fuse, while an explosion triggers a randomized fuse between 0.75 and three seconds. A Sulfur Cube with primed TNT cannot be bucketed, damaged, or sheared. Additionally, on explosion, no Small Sulfur Cubes are spawned. The beta also brings several Sulfur Cave fixes.
Features and Bug Fixes
Key new features and major fixes in the Minecraft 26.30.25/26 beta and preview include:
- Iron doors and stone buttons now correctly generate in strongholds
- Four Sulfur Spikes can now be crafted into one Sulfur block
- A Panorama Scroll Speed slider has been added to Video settings
- Several long-standing gameplay bugs fixed: bees failing to pollinate Spore Blossoms, Strider loot not affected by Looting Enchantment, and entities on the edge of shallow liquid being incorrectly affected
- Graphical fixes: snow golem heads disappearing in Ray Tracing mode, z-fighting on scaffolding, and certain animations not working on Android devices
- UI improvements: better text field controls on Windows, improved crafting preview wood variant display, and profile picture loading fixes
Technical Updates
On the technical side, four entity components, including minecraft:bounciness and minecraft:apply_knockback_rules, have graduated out of beta and are available in the 1.26.30 format version. Furthermore, Voxel shapes have been added for 46 vanilla blocks, including Dripleaf, Fence, and Fence Gate variants. A new SoundInstance API class has also been introduced in experimental beta, allowing scripts to stop playing sounds programmatically.
This covers everything you need to know about the Minecraft 26.30.25/26 beta and preview.
