MUMBAI: Western Railway executed two major blocks on its suburban section during the night between Saturday and Sunday for infrastructure work, including the launching of steel girders for Metro Line-6 between Ram Mandir and Jogeshwari, and the installation of girders for two foot overbridges at Dahisar.
WR Chief Spokesperson Vineet Abhishek stated that a block was undertaken between Ram Mandir and Jogeshwari for launching steel girders of Metro Line-6. As part of this, work was carried out on the sixth line for 10 hours until Sunday morning. During the block, all trains on the sixth line were diverted to the UP fast line between Borivali and Andheri.
Simultaneously, another major block was carried out at Dahisar for the launching of girders for two foot overbridges. The block at Dahisar was implemented on the Down slow, Up slow and Down fast lines from 2:05 am to 4:05 am on Sunday, and on the Up fast line from 2:05 am to 3:05 am.
The infrastructure upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to enhance suburban railway facilities and support the expansion of the metro network in Mumbai. Commuters are advised to check for updates on train schedules due to these essential works.
