Khurda Police Launches QR Code Citizen Assistance Platform

Bhubaneswar: Police in Khurda district launched a QR code-based citizen assistance platform on Friday. The initiative aims to provide citizens with easy access to multiple police services through QR codes and WhatsApp support.

Key Features of the Platform

According to IGP (central range) Satyajit Naik, citizens can now access services including complaint registration, emergency assistance, mobile theft reporting, senior citizen support, police station location services, feedback mechanisms, and other public assistance facilities. The platform leverages QR codes for quick access and offers WhatsApp-based support for convenience.

Police Mitra Initiative

SP (Khurda) Vivekananda Sharma announced the launch of the 'police mitra' programme and unveiled a dedicated logo. He described this as a significant step to strengthen police-public partnership and promote community-oriented policing. The initiative aims to enhance coordination between police and citizens by providing instant access to essential services through a technology-enabled and citizen-friendly platform.

Sharma emphasized that the service facilitates prompt public assistance, encourages community participation in policing activities, and strengthens mutual trust and cooperation between the police and the community. The 'police mitra' initiative will highlight public participation in maintaining peace, preventing crime, promoting awareness, and ensuring effective grievance redressal.

SP Sharma urged citizens to actively associate with the 'police mitra' initiative and work together with the police to build a safer and more secure society.
