Airtel Boosts 5G Network Across Gujarat with Massive Expansion
In a significant move to enhance digital infrastructure, Bharti Airtel has announced a major expansion of its 5G network in Gujarat. Over the past year, the telecom giant has deployed more than 2,750 new 5G sites across all 36 districts of the state. This expansion aims to provide faster speeds, wider coverage, and an improved connectivity experience for over 41 million customers in Gujarat.
Rapid Deployment and Enhanced Coverage
With an average of eight new sites going live every day, Airtel's enhanced network footprint now reaches bustling cities, fast-growing towns, and remote rural villages. Key districts such as Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot, and Surat are set to benefit directly from this upgrade. Customers in these areas can expect smoother streaming, faster downloads, uninterrupted online work and learning, and more reliable digital payments.
Adarsh Verma, CEO – Gujarat, Bharti Airtel, commented on the expansion, stating, "Data consumption across Gujarat continues to grow rapidly, and our focus is to stay ahead of this demand by consistently strengthening our network. The addition of over 2,750 new 5G sites across the state will deliver faster speeds, wider coverage and a superior connectivity experience for millions of customers. At Airtel, we remain committed to powering Gujarat’s digital growth with a robust and future-ready network."
Complementary Unlimited Data Plan
To support the network expansion, Airtel has introduced a new Rs 399 unlimited data plan for smartphone users. This plan is designed to facilitate seamless streaming, studying, working, and staying connected without concerns over data limits. The company emphasized that its investments extend beyond urban centers, covering rural villages, semi-urban areas, highways, border regions, and key economic and cultural corridors. This ensures dependable connectivity even in high-mobility and high-usage zones.
Impact on Gujarat's Digital Landscape
The expansion is expected to significantly boost Gujarat's digital economy by enabling better access to online services and applications. With improved network reliability, businesses, students, and everyday users can leverage enhanced connectivity for various purposes, from e-commerce to remote education. Airtel's commitment to covering diverse geographical areas highlights its strategy to bridge the digital divide and support statewide development.
This move aligns with broader trends in India's telecom sector, where 5G rollouts are accelerating to meet growing data demands. As Airtel continues to invest in Gujarat, customers can anticipate ongoing improvements in network performance and service quality, reinforcing the state's position as a hub for technological advancement.
