January 2026 Smartphone Launches in India: Redmi, Realme, Oppo, Poco, Motorola
Major Smartphone Launches in India This January 2026

The final month of 2025, December, is typically a quiet period for new smartphone releases. However, it defied expectations with notable debuts like the OnePlus 15R and Vivo X300 in the Indian market. The momentum is now set to explode in the opening month of 2026, with a packed calendar of confirmed launches and strong rumours pointing to an exciting start for tech enthusiasts.

Confirmed Launches Kicking Off the New Year

The first week of January is particularly dense with activity, headlined by two major brands launching on the same day.

Redmi Note 15 is officially scheduled for an Indian debut on 6th January, 2026. It will be accompanied by the Redmi Pad 2 Pro. Xiaomi has already revealed several key specifications for the phone. It will boast a large 6.77-inch 120Hz AMOLED display capable of an impressive 3,200 nits peak brightness. Under the hood, it will be driven by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor and house a substantial 5,520mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging support.

Also launching on 6 January is the Realme 16 Pro lineup, consisting of the Realme 16 Pro and the Realme 16 Pro+. Realme is positioning these devices as photography-centric powerhouses. Both models will feature AMOLED displays and an enormous 7,000mAh battery. The standard Pro model will get its power from the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip, while the Pro+ variant will step up with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC. The series will also support 80W wired fast charging and come equipped with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

Anticipated Debuts and Rumoured Specs

Beyond the first week, several other brands are poised to enter the fray with new offerings.

The Oppo Reno 15 series launch date in India is not yet set in stone, but the company has been actively teasing the phones. This suggests a potential unveiling in early January. The lineup is expected to include the Reno 15 Pro Mini, Reno 15 Pro, and the standard Reno 15, likely alongside the Oppo Pad 5.

Poco has set 8 January as the launch date for the Poco M8 5G in India. While detailed specifications remain under wraps, a teaser image hints at a dual-tone design with a distinctive circular camera module. Industry speculation suggests it could be a redesigned version of the Redmi Note 15, though official confirmation is awaited.

Flagship Power from Motorola

Adding to the premium segment, Motorola will introduce its Signature series in India on 7 January. The Lenovo-owned brand has been cryptic about details, but a leaked Geekbench listing provides clues. It indicates the new device might be a rebadged version of the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra. If the rumours hold, it could be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor—the same chipset found in the OnePlus 15R. The phone is also tipped to feature up to 16GB of RAM and run on Android 16 out of the box.

This flurry of announcements sets the stage for a highly competitive and innovative start to 2026 in the Indian smartphone arena, offering consumers a wide range of choices across budgets and feature sets.
