Belagavi: Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar announced that the construction of the new terminal building at Sambra Airport is in its final stages and will be inaugurated within the next two months. He also stated that more flights from various companies will be permitted to operate from the airport. Shettar made these remarks while inaugurating the grand Yatra Suvidha Diwas programme at Sambra Airport on Monday.
Cultural Events and Activities
The event featured folk dance, singing, and rangoli competitions organized by students of Sky Training School in collaboration with the Kannada and Culture Department. These activities attracted special attention from attendees. Throughout the day, various programs such as a blood donation camp and free medical treatment were organized at the airport.
Special Performances and Collaborations
The Kala Nadige Nimma Kadege programme, jointly sponsored by the Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka, and the Airports Authority of India, drew significant visitor interest. Artiste Rekha Hegde's team performed a Bharatanatyam dance, while light music was presented by Satyanarayana and his team from Nadasudha Sugama Sangeet Academy. Folk artiste Goolappa Vijayanagara performed 'Veeragase'.

S Thiyagarajan, Director of Belagavi Airport, addressed the gathering. Belagavi Regional Commissioner Janaki KM and Vidyavati Bhajantri, Deputy Director of the Department of Kannada and Culture, were also present at the event.
