Cheetah KGP11 Dies at Kuno; Population at 49

Bhopal: KGP11, a 27-month-old Indian-born female cheetah, died during treatment at Palpur veterinary facility inside Kuno National Park on Saturday. The cheetah was injured near Pahargarh area of Morena district on June 1.

Post-Mortem Scheduled

Officials said the exact cause of death would be determined after a post-mortem examination scheduled for Sunday.

Current Cheetah Population

With KGP11's death, the cheetah population at Kuno National Park now stands at 49, including 32 Indian-born cheetahs. Of these, 19 are currently roaming free in the wild, while the remaining animals are under observation and reported to be healthy, as per Cheetah Project authorities.
