Incident at Bandipur National Park
A group of tourists had a narrow escape when a wild elephant chased their safari vehicle at Bandipur National Park in Karnataka on 22 June 2026. The incident occurred during a morning safari, startling visitors as the jumbo ran after the vehicle for a considerable distance before eventually turning back into the forest.

According to forest officials, no injuries were reported among the tourists or staff. The driver of the safari vehicle managed to accelerate away from the charging elephant, ensuring the safety of all passengers. The elephant, identified as a lone male, later retreated into the dense forest without causing any damage.
