Heatwave Conditions Expected in Himachal Pradesh
The Meteorological Centre in Shimla has issued a yellow warning for heatwave conditions in several parts of Himachal Pradesh. The alert is specifically for the districts of Una, Bilaspur, and Solan, valid for June 9 and 10. Isolated places in these districts are likely to experience extensive heatwave conditions.
Temperature Rise Expected
According to the weather department, minimum temperatures across the state are expected to increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures may rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius. This surge will lead to scorching heat across the region.
Heavy Rain Alert on June 11
In addition to the heatwave warning, the Meteorological Centre has also issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rains across the state on June 11. This indicates a sudden change in weather patterns.
Recent Weather Observations
During the last 24 hours, very light precipitation was recorded in some parts of the state, while most areas remained dry. Minimum temperatures were normal, ranging between 5°C and 26°C. Maximum temperatures, however, surged by 2 to 5 degrees Celsius, ranging from 19°C to 41°C.

Specific temperature readings include: Shimla at 27.4°C, Dharamshala at 34°C, Manali at 27.2°C, Kangra at 37°C, Mandi at 36.2°C, Sundernagar at 36.6°C, Kufri at 20.7°C, Kalpa at 22.8°C, Keylong at 20°C, Nahan at 34.6°C, Bhuntar at 34.4°C, and Chamba at 32.8°C. Una recorded the highest maximum temperature at 41°C, making it the hottest place in the state. Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest, with a minimum temperature of 5.2°C.

Residents in the affected districts are advised to take necessary precautions against heatwave conditions. Staying hydrated, avoiding direct sun exposure during peak hours, and wearing light clothing are recommended.
