MDU BTech Student Gets AIR 61, Joins IAF

Sagar Solanki, a BTech Computer Science and Engineering student at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, has achieved All-India Rank (AIR) 61 in the final merit list for the Indian Air Force (IAF). He has been selected for the aeronautical engineering branch and will soon begin training as an Under Training Flying Officer.

Selection Process and Personal Challenges

The selection was conducted by the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) in Gandhinagar. According to Pankaj Nain, Public Relations Officer at MDU, Sagar faced a personal tragedy just days before the selection process: his father passed away. Despite this, he managed his family responsibilities and appeared for the selection, delivering an outstanding performance that led to his recommendation by the Services Selection Board (SSB). He subsequently cleared the medical examination and secured AIR 61.

Dedication to Late Father

Sagar credited his success to the support and blessings of his late father, family members, teachers, and friends. “Becoming an officer in the Indian Air Force has been my childhood dream, and I dedicate this achievement to my late father,” he said.
