LUDHIANA: Punjabi singer Yashinder Kaur, also known as Inder Kaur, aged 29, was discovered murdered in Ludhiana on Tuesday, six days after she was reportedly abducted at gunpoint, as reported by Payal Dhawan. The primary suspect is an alleged suitor residing in Canada, who is believed to have entered India via Nepal with the intent to kill her and then flown back on May 13, the very night of the murder. Her body was recovered from the Neelon canal.
Details of the Incident
According to Jamalpur SHO Dalvir Singh, the singer's car was found approximately one kilometer away from the canal, stained with blood. Initial investigations suggest that she was shot inside the vehicle before being dumped into the canal. Police confirm that the murder occurred within hours of the abduction.
Investigation and Arrests
The water in the canal may have erased crucial evidence in the case. Jamalpur police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the woman's friend Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, a resident of Moga who lives in Canada. His father, Pritam Singh, and a friend, Karamjeet Singh, have been taken into custody.
Yashinder's brother, Jyotinder, informed the police that his sister left home in her car on May 13 to purchase groceries but never returned. The family learned that she had been kidnapped at gunpoint and subsequently approached the authorities. Initially, an FIR was registered for abduction, and murder charges were added after the discovery of the body.
