Visakhapatnam: In anticipation of International Yoga Day celebrations, a large-scale yoga programme was conducted at the East Point Golf Club in Mudasarlova on Tuesday. The district administration had previously organized similar events at Rushikonda beach and within the Naval Dockyard premises to promote yoga and highlight the region's tourism potential.
Enthusiastic Participation from Diverse Groups
The event at the golf club drew an enthusiastic response from people across various walks of life. Participants included Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat, District Collector M Abhishikt Kishore, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, other district officials, tourism stakeholders, and students, all of whom performed yoga asanas together.
Collector Highlights Golf Club's Prominence
Addressing the gathering, District Collector M Abhishikt Kishore noted that East Point Golf Club has emerged as one of the premier golfing destinations in the country. He explained that the Yogandhra programme was organized at this venue with the objective of promoting this outstanding tourist attraction.
Massive Demonstration Planned for June 21
The collector announced that a massive yoga demonstration involving thousands of participants would be held on the beach road on June 21. He emphasized that yoga encourages a healthy lifestyle while also providing an opportunity to showcase tourist destinations to the world. On behalf of the district administration, he appealed to everyone to actively participate in the event.

Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat expressed great pleasure in organizing a yoga programme at a magnificent venue such as East Point Golf Club. He stated that such initiatives aim not only to create awareness about the importance of yoga but also to showcase tourist destinations to a global audience.
