In a remarkable development, ten families residing deep within the dense forests of Chhattisgarh have experienced electricity for the first time in their lives. This historic milestone was achieved under a state government initiative aimed at electrifying the most remote and inaccessible hamlets.
Decades of Darkness End
For generations, these families lived without access to power, relying on kerosene lamps and firewood for light. The electrification project, part of the Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana, connected their settlement through a solar micro-grid, ensuring sustainable and reliable energy.
Impact on Daily Life
The arrival of electricity has transformed their daily routines. Children can now study at night, households can operate small appliances, and the community can preserve food. Villager Mangli Bai expressed her joy, stating, "We never imagined we would see light in our homes. Now our children can study without strain."
Government's Commitment
Chhattisgarh's Energy Minister emphasized the government's dedication to universal electrification, noting that this achievement is a step toward bridging the urban-rural divide. The project faced logistical challenges due to the terrain, but innovative solutions like solar power made it feasible.
This development is part of a broader effort to provide electricity to all off-grid villages in the state, with plans to cover more isolated communities in the coming months.
