KANNUR: An Air India Express flight bound for Jeddah returned to Kannur airport on Tuesday after pilots detected an engine-related warning nearly two hours after take-off, airport sources said.
Flight Details
The flight, carrying more than 180 passengers, had departed from Kannur International Airport at 7.40am. While en route, the crew noticed an engine warning indication and decided to turn the aircraft back as a precaution, sources said.
Safe Landing
The aircraft landed safely at Kannur and all passengers were reported safe. A subsequent inspection found an issue with the aircraft's fuel filter, sources said.
Before landing, the aircraft remained airborne for some time, circling the airport to burn excess fuel and reduce landing weight, they added.
This incident highlights the importance of safety protocols in aviation. The crew's quick decision ensured the safety of all on board.
