The much-anticipated Vande Bharat sleeper train connecting KSR Bengaluru and Mumbai CSMT is set to commence operations from August 1, offering passengers a faster and more comfortable travel option. This new service promises to significantly reduce travel time and enhance connectivity between the two major cities.
Route and Schedule
The train will operate via Solapur and Kalaburagi, improving connectivity on this corridor and linking key regions more efficiently. Services are expected to depart in the evening, allowing passengers to travel overnight and arrive at their destination in the morning, making it highly convenient for long-distance travelers.
Faster Journey Time
The new Vande Bharat sleeper is expected to reduce travel time to approximately 15 hours, a substantial improvement over the current journey of over 24 hours taken by existing trains on the same route. This marks a significant upgrade in rail travel efficiency.
Current Dependence on Udyan Express
For over a decade, the Udyan Express has been the only direct train on this route, with a long journey time that highlighted the need for faster alternatives. The introduction of the Vande Bharat sleeper addresses this long-standing demand.
Passenger Response and Future Plans
Recent sleeper train services have received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with most passengers rating their experience as excellent or very good. This growing demand underscores the need for such modern trains. Additionally, there are plans to introduce another superfast train between Bengaluru and Mumbai via Hubballi and Pune, featuring modern LHB coaches for improved comfort and speed.
The launch of the Vande Bharat sleeper train is a welcome development for travelers, offering a faster, more comfortable, and convenient option for overnight journeys between Bengaluru and Mumbai.
