Mangaluru: E-ticketing kiosks designed to enhance accessibility for tourists at the city's Dr Shivarama Karantha Pilikula Nisargadhama were inaugurated by minister NS Boseraju on Wednesday. The centre, a major educational, scientific, and tourist destination in coastal Karnataka, previously relied on a physical ticketing system for entry to its various units.
Digital Transformation Under Canara Bank Patronage
The project was implemented with the support of Canara Bank, introducing a digital payment system, QR code-based ticketing, and self-service facilities. Under the new system, visitors can book tickets for all attractions inside the nisargadhama or opt for separate tickets for individual facilities.
Instant Ticket Delivery via WhatsApp
Once the booking is completed, the ticket is instantly sent to the visitor's WhatsApp number. Payments can be made through UPI applications, as well as credit and debit cards. During the booking process, visitors are required to provide their mobile number, to which the tickets will be delivered digitally.
QR Code Scanning for Entry
At the entrance of various attractions, the QR codes on the tickets will be scanned for entry, streamlining the process and reducing waiting times. This initiative is expected to significantly improve the visitor experience at one of the region's key tourist spots.
