The long-delayed Ejipura flyover in Bengaluru is now expected to be completed by the end of October, following a review meeting held by the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA). Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao directed contractors to deploy additional staff and labourers to ensure timely execution of the project.
Key Directives from the Review Meeting
During the meeting on Thursday, Rao ordered the immediate relocation of Bescom equipment from the Madivala-side ramp site. Additionally, three trees opposite Kendriya Sadan must be removed within four days to facilitate the start of ramp construction. These steps are critical to avoid further delays.
Progress on Domlur Side and Ejipura Signal Junction
The down-ramp work on the Domlur side has achieved 70% completion. Rao directed the contractor to finish the remaining work within 15 days. Meanwhile, the launch of four spans near the Ejipura signal junction began on Wednesday and is scheduled for completion within two months.
Casting and Span Installation Status
Out of the total 762 segments required for the 2.6-kilometer flyover, 731 have already been cast. The remaining casting work is expected to be completed by the end of June. Of the 66 planned spans, 52 have been installed, and work on the remaining 14 spans is currently in progress.
The project has faced multiple delays in the past, but authorities are now pushing for an accelerated timeline. With additional manpower and clear directives, the flyover is anticipated to open to traffic by October, easing congestion on one of Bengaluru's key arterial roads.
