An encounter broke out between security forces and suspected terrorists in the Gambhir Muglan area of Rajouri during a joint intelligence-based operation by the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force. According to officials, the operation was launched in the Dorimal-Gambhir Moghala belt after inputs about the presence of two to three suspected terrorists in the area. The Army’s 16 Corps said contact was established around 11:30 am and troops responded with “calibrated action” after coming under contact. Security forces cordoned off the area and carried out extensive searches, while additional reinforcements were rushed to the spot. The operation was still underway when reports last came in.
