Mohan Prasad Oli had been unwell for several days prior to his death. He passed away in the morning while undergoing treatment at the Korean Hospital in Gatthaghar, Kathmandu. According to the secretariat of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, he was taken to the hospital last night after experiencing health complications and died during treatment.
In recent times, Mohan Prasad Oli had been residing at his daughter's home in Gatthaghar. His health had been a concern, leading to his hospitalization.

Mohan Prasad Oli's life was marked by both personal and political connections. During the Gen Z protests on September 8 and 9, his house in Jhapa was set on fire. Following this incident, he had not returned to Jhapa, although he previously traveled frequently between there and other locations.
