Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana announced that the India International Horticulture Market (IIHM) in Ganaur will significantly boost the state's horticulture sector. The project aims to provide farmers with enhanced market access, modern facilities, and opportunities to sell their produce globally.
Board Meeting Highlights
Rana chaired the 37th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Haryana International Horticulture Marketing Corporation Ltd (HIHMCL) at Haryana Niwas on Thursday. During the session, agenda items concerning the development and operation of the IIHM in Ganaur, Sonipat district, were discussed in detail.
Key Decisions
The board deliberated on the proposal for selecting a transaction adviser and consultant (TAC). It approved the request for proposal (RFP) for integrated consultancy services to expedite the market's operations. Additionally, the board extended the contract of EIL, serving as the authority engineer, until December 31, 2026, to ensure smooth project activities. After a thorough discussion on suspending penalties related to the IIHM project, the board also approved that proposal.
These measures are expected to accelerate the completion and operationalization of the IIHM, which is poised to transform horticulture marketing in the region.
