Shimla: Several parts of Himachal Pradesh experienced light to moderate rainfall for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, leading to a significant drop in mercury levels across most areas of the state.
Rainfall and Temperature Impact
Rainfall was recorded in various districts, including Lahaul and Spiti, Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur, Solan, Shimla, Chamba, Kangra, and Kinnaur. The continuous precipitation for the second day resulted in a notable decrease in maximum temperatures.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Shimla, the maximum temperature in Shimla was recorded at 21.6 degrees Celsius. Other notable readings include Manali at 17 degrees Celsius, Kalpa at 19.1 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar at 20.4 degrees Celsius, and Tabo at 17.5 degrees Celsius.
Highest and Lowest Temperatures
Una recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 35.8 degrees Celsius, which is one degree below the normal for this time of year. Kangra and Mandi recorded maximum temperatures of 29.8 degrees Celsius and 26.8 degrees Celsius, respectively. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Kukumseri, located in the Lahaul and Spiti district, at 5.6 degrees Celsius.
