NEW DELHI: India and the Netherlands have established a joint working group to accelerate New Delhi's clean energy expansion through shared technology, expertise, and finance, as announced by New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi in a social media post.
New Opportunities in Green Energy
The minister stated that the joint working group would generate new opportunities for Indian industry, researchers, and workers in green energy sectors. Several agreements were signed between the Indian delegation and the Netherlands during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to boost strategic ties and cooperation between the two nations.
"The India-Netherlands partnership gained new momentum during PM Narendra Modi's visit to the Netherlands. Cooperation in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and energy transition will strengthen clean energy innovation, boost investments, create new economic opportunities, and support India's emergence as a global green hydrogen hub. These outcomes further reinforce India's commitment towards sustainable growth, energy security, and a cleaner future," Joshi posted on X.
Green Hydrogen Roadmap
The minister highlighted that the India-Netherlands roadmap on green hydrogen would expand export markets in Europe for India and attract investment and technology for electrolysers, storage, and port infrastructure. It would also create high-skilled jobs and strengthen India's position as a global green hydrogen hub.
Collaborative Projects and Energy Security
Joshi added that the arrangement between Niti Aayog and the Netherlands on energy sector and energy transition projects would lead to collaborative projects and industry partnerships, enhance energy security through diversified, cleaner, and more reliable energy sources, and create economic opportunities through green jobs, innovation, and investment.
