Kanpur to Get Relief from Humidity as Rain Likely from Monday

Residents of Kanpur endured uncomfortable weather conditions on Sunday as high humidity levels persisted, despite only a marginal increase in temperature. The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 23.4 degrees Celsius. Although the temperatures were not significantly high, the humid conditions made the weather feel much warmer, prompting many people to remain indoors during the day.

Humidity Levels Cause Discomfort

The maximum relative humidity touched 76 per cent, resulting in excessive sweating and general discomfort for citizens. The sticky weather made it difficult for outdoor activities, and many residents sought refuge in air-conditioned spaces. However, weather experts have predicted an improvement in conditions starting Monday.

IMD Forecast: Rain and Strong Winds Expected

According to the latest forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Kanpur Division is likely to witness increased thundercloud activity on Monday, accompanied by strong winds and the possibility of light rainfall. The department has also forecast a fall of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in temperatures during the current week. This change is expected to bring much-needed relief from the prevailing heat, though humid conditions may continue to persist for some time.
