Saudi Arabia and Portugal have signed an agreement granting mutual visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic and special passports, marking a new step in strengthening relations between the two countries.
Agreement Signed in Lisbon
The agreement was signed in Lisbon on Tuesday by Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Portugal's Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Paulo Rangel.
The agreement aims to facilitate travel and communication between the two countries while enhancing joint coordination and expanding areas of bilateral cooperation.
Discussions on Regional Issues
The signing took place during Prince Faisal's official visit to Portugal, where the two ministers also held extensive discussions on regional and international developments.
Among the issues discussed were ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region. Both sides welcomed the agreement between Iran and the United States to end military operations and begin detailed negotiations aimed at reaching a lasting settlement. They stressed the importance of diplomatic solutions in preserving regional security and stability.
