Residents Urged to Take Precautions
The State Disaster Management Authority has issued guidelines for residents in low-lying areas and coastal regions. "People should avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall periods and stay away from waterlogged areas," warned a senior official from the disaster management department.
Emergency helpline numbers have been circulated widely, and residents have been asked to store essential supplies and keep important documents in waterproof containers. The weather disturbance comes as part of the ongoing Northeast monsoon season that typically affects Tamil Nadu between October and December.
