Akola and Amravati: Vidarbha continued to experience intense heat on Saturday as Akola and Amravati recorded 45.6 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature across Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Wardha followed closely with the mercury soaring to 45.5 degrees Celsius, while Nagpur, Bramhapuri, and Chandrapur recorded temperatures exceeding 44 degrees Celsius.

RK Kaushal, head of the IMD office in Akola, stated that temperatures are expected to rise further over the next few days, with heatwave conditions likely to persist. He attributed the trend to prevailing dry weather patterns and strong solar radiation.
