Woman killed, husband injured in Pilibhit road accident

A tragic road accident in Jagatpur village of Pilibhit district on Monday claimed the life of a 39-year-old woman and left her husband injured. The couple was riding a motorcycle when an unidentified speeding truck collided head-on with them.

Victim Details

Rajkumari Devi, a resident of Bhura Sarainda village, died on the spot due to the impact of the collision. Her husband, Mahesh Kumar, aged 42, sustained fractures to his leg and ribs. Mahesh is employed as a village rozgar sevak with the district development department.

Medical Response

Avdhesh Kumar, in-charge of the Karor police outpost under Barkhera police station, stated that Mahesh was initially taken to a community health centre for treatment. Later, he was shifted to the Autonomous State Medical College in Pilibhit. After receiving preliminary care, he was referred to a higher medical facility in Bareilly for further treatment.

SHO Satyendra Kumar confirmed that the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. Police are actively searching for the vehicle. An FIR will be registered once a written complaint is received from the family.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging witnesses to come forward with any information that could help identify the truck and its driver.
