Tragic Bus Crash Claims 13 Lives at Nepal-India Border Wedding Party
A devastating road accident in Nepal has resulted in the deaths of thirteen individuals, including five members of a single family, after a private bus carrying a wedding party plunged into a deep gorge. The incident occurred around 8 PM on Thursday in the Baitadi district, which lies along the India-Nepal border, adjacent to Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district in India.
Details of the Fatal Accident and Rescue Operations
According to Baldev Badu, the police spokesperson for Baitadi district in Nepal, the bus was transporting the wedding party from Bhauni village in the Purchunihat area of Baitadi district back to Vilthirchir in Bajhang district. At Budgoan, the vehicle lost control on the hilly terrain and fell into a 200-meter-deep gorge. Six individuals died instantly at the scene, while seven others succumbed to their injuries in hospitals—five at Dadeldhura and two at Kotila.
