Delhi Weather Update: Light Morning Rain Brings Relief, Yellow Alert Issued for Sunday
Parts of the national capital experienced very light rainfall during the morning hours on Saturday, leading to a marginal drop in maximum temperatures under partly cloudy skies. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Sunday, warning of rain and thunderstorms influenced by a western disturbance affecting the region.
Temperature Trends and Forecast Details
On Friday, the maximum temperature at Safdarjung was recorded at 32.6 degrees Celsius, a notable decrease from 34.8 degrees Celsius the previous day. The minimum temperature settled at 20.6 degrees Celsius, which is three notches below the normal range, compared to 19.2 degrees Celsius earlier.
According to the IMD, the maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday are likely to hover around 32 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius, respectively, with a marginal fall expected. The department stated, "Maximum temperature is expected to be below normal for a few days from Monday."
Weather Conditions and Alerts
The IMD forecasts a spell of very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) during morning hours, with another similar spell expected from forenoon to afternoon on Sunday. There is also a possibility of very light to light rain with thunderstorm and lightning on Monday.

Meanwhile, Delhi's air quality saw a slight improvement, remaining within moderate levels. The AQI is projected to stay within the moderate category over the next seven days, providing some respite from pollution concerns.
