University Students Launch Major Cleanliness Drive at Dhanbad Lake
In a significant environmental initiative, hundreds of students from Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) took charge of cleaning the banks of Rani Bandh Talab in Dhanbad's Dahiya locality on Monday. The massive cleanup operation aimed to highlight the urgent need to preserve the city's precious water bodies from pollution and neglect.
Hands-On Action for a Cleaner Environment
Equipped with gloves and masks, the dedicated student volunteers rolled up their sleeves to tackle the accumulated waste around the historic pond. They meticulously cleaned the lake waters and removed substantial amounts of plastic waste from the banks and surrounding areas. The young environmentalists worked tirelessly, demonstrating their commitment to restoring the water body's natural purity.
Nabita Gupta, the coordinator of the drive, emphasized the critical importance of maintaining clean water sources for community health. "Clean water is fundamental for human survival," she stated. "This initiative goes beyond just cleaning a single pond - it's about awakening collective responsibility toward nature among all citizens."

Among the active participants, student Priyanka Kumari shared her determination to restore the pond's ecological health. "The waste materials are poisoning our water sources," she noted while collecting debris. "We are systematically removing and planning proper decomposition of these materials elsewhere to ensure our ponds remain clean and safe for future generations."
