Hyderabad Endures Second Consecutive Day of Rainfall

Rain lashed Hyderabad for the second day in a row on Wednesday, leading to brief disruptions across various parts of the city. According to official data from the Telangana Development Planning Society, the rainfall ranged from light to moderate intensity in different localities.

Rainfall Data Highlights Wettest Areas

Hayathnagar emerged as one of the wettest pockets, receiving 31.5 mm of rainfall. This was closely followed by Vanasthalipuram with 24.8 mm. In Hayathnagar itself, Defence Colony recorded 22.5 mm of rain.

  • Lingoji Guda: 10 mm
  • South Hastinapuram: 9.3 mm

Uppal reported 6.5 mm of rainfall, while several other localities saw light precipitation below five millimeters.

Statewide Rainfall Patterns

Across Telangana state, higher rainfall was recorded in several districts. Tiryani in Kumuram Bheem district topped the chart with 48.8 mm of rainfall. Following this were Hayathnagar in Rangareddy district with 31.5 mm and Madgul in Vikarabad district with 27.3 mm.

Additional areas receiving moderate rainfall between 18 mm and 24 mm included Yacharam, Balanagar, and Ghatkesar.

The weather department has issued forecasts for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated places across multiple districts. The affected districts include:

  3. Nizamabad
  4. Warangal
  5. Siddipet
  6. Rangareddy
  7. Hyderabad
  8. Medchal-Malkajgiri

For Hyderabad specifically, a partly cloudy sky is expected. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely toward evening or night. Residents should prepare for possible gusty winds during this period.

Temperatures in Hyderabad are anticipated to hover around 37 degrees Celsius for the maximum and 23 degrees Celsius for the minimum.
