Kanpur: Residents continued to reel under intense heat on Tuesday as mercury levels remained almost unchanged. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius, marginally higher than Monday's 39.3 degrees Celsius.
Temperature Details
According to the weather observatory of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.2 degrees Celsius, which was 2.2 degrees below normal. The comparatively lower night temperature provided some relief to residents during late hours.
Humidity and Wind Conditions
However, high humidity coupled with north-easterly winds blowing at speeds between 4 and 11.3 kmph made daytime conditions extremely uncomfortable. The heat index remained significantly high, with residents experiencing temperatures ranging between 40 and 44 degrees Celsius under hot, hazy and humid conditions.
Weather Forecast
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has predicted no immediate relief for residents over the next 24 hours.
