Indian security forces have issued a stark warning about a potential spike in terrorist infiltration attempts across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir as the harsh winter approaches. This alert comes months after India's precision strikes targeted terror camps within Pakistan.
BSF Sounds Alarm on Terrorist Buildup
The Border Security Force (BSF) has revealed critical intelligence indicating a significant concentration of militants poised to cross into Indian territory. BSF Inspector General for the Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav, provided a detailed and concerning assessment of the situation along the volatile border.
In a statement made recently, Yadav disclosed that surveillance and intelligence inputs point to more than 100 terrorists currently stationed and waiting for an opportunity to infiltrate. These individuals are reportedly housed across approximately 69 active launch pads situated along the Pakistani side of the LoC.
New Infiltration Tactics Pose a Challenge
Compounding the threat is a shift in tactics by Pakistan-based terror groups. The BSF chief highlighted that these outfits are now actively employing new and unconventional routes to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir. The primary objective behind this strategic change is to avoid detection by India's advanced surveillance and monitoring systems.

As temperatures plummet, the high-altitude mountain passes that serve as traditional infiltration routes become sealed by heavy snowfall, making crossings virtually impossible for several months.
This creates a perverse incentive for terror groups to maximize their efforts in the coming weeks. They are likely to push for as many infiltrations as possible before the natural blockade of winter sets in, aiming to replenish their ranks and destabilize the region.
