In a tragic road accident, a container lorry driver was burnt alive after his vehicle lost control and collided with a stationary tipper lorry on National Highway 16 near Veeravalli village in Bapulapadu mandal of Krishna district late Friday night.

Victim Identification

The deceased has been identified as C Surendra, 23, a resident of Yeleswaram in Kakinada district.

Accident Details

According to Veeravalli police, the tipper lorry had halted on the roadside due to a tyre puncture. A speeding container lorry then rammed into the stationary vehicle, triggering a massive fire. The impact and subsequent blaze engulfed the container lorry, trapping the driver inside. He was burnt alive before rescue teams could reach him.

Rescue Operations

Upon receiving information, Veeravalli police rushed to the accident spot and initiated rescue operations. The second driver from the ill-fated lorry was safely rescued. Firefighters later brought the blaze under control.

Legal Proceedings

A case has been registered, and the body has been shifted to the local government hospital for postmortem examination.
