In a tragic incident in the Patodi area of Rajasthan's Balotra district, four real brothers lost their lives on Tuesday after a devastating collision between a Rajasthan Roadways bus and a car. The impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled, leaving no chance of survival for any of the occupants.
Accident Details
According to reports, the accident was extremely horrific, with the car reduced to twisted metal. All four brothers died on the spot. The tragedy has left the family shattered, with relatives and villagers gathering at the victims' home to offer condolences. The incident has inflicted an irreparable loss on a once happy and thriving family.
Villagers Block Road
Following the accident, angry villagers and family members blocked the Patodi Road, demanding action. Police officials are currently trying to persuade protesters to clear the road.
Balotra Superintendent of Police said that a serious road accident involving a Roadways bus and a car occurred on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of four brothers. Police teams rushed to the scene and have launched an investigation into the incident. After receiving information about the accident, police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the hospital mortuary.
Preliminary Investigation
Preliminary investigations revealed that the four brothers had left home for work and were travelling in the car when it collided head-on with an oncoming Roadways bus near Patodi village.
According to available information, the four brothers were travelling to Kaleva village, located about 22 kilometres from their village, where they worked as construction labourers. During the collision, a motorcycle parked on the roadside was also hit by the bus. Fortunately, the motorcyclist escaped unharmed as he was standing away from the vehicle.
Rescue Efforts
As news of the accident spread, a large number of villagers gathered at the scene. The car was found completely crushed, with the bodies trapped inside the wreckage. Local residents immediately began rescue efforts, using iron tools to break open the damaged vehicle and retrieve the victims. However, by the time they were brought out, all four had already succumbed to their injuries.
The bodies were later shifted to the Patodi Hospital mortuary. Police have registered a case and started investigating the cause of the accident.
Victims Identified
The victims were identified as Udaram Meghwal (39), Rekharam Meghwal (35), Jogaram Meghwal (31), and Vishnaram Meghwal (29), all residents of Koduka village in Balotra district.
Their cousin, Gopal Meghwal, said that all four brothers worked in house construction. On Tuesday morning, they were travelling together to Kaleva village for work when their car was struck by a Roadways bus heading towards Jodhpur near Patodi village.
Gopal added that the brothers usually travelled separately for work, but since all of them had work at the same location that day, they decided to travel together in one car.
Family Left Behind
The deceased leave behind their elderly parents, three widows, and several children. Udaram is survived by two sons and a daughter, Rekharam by two sons, and Vishnaram by two sons. Jogaram was unmarried and was unable to speak.
Protest and Demands
The tragedy sparked outrage among villagers and relatives, who staged a road blockade demanding the arrest of the bus driver and adequate compensation for the bereaved family. Police officials reached the site and are engaged in talks with the protesters to restore normalcy.
