A tragic incident unfolded in Rajasthan's Baran district on Tuesday afternoon when four individuals, including a mother and her son and two brothers, drowned in the Parvati River near Gugor village in the Chhabra area. The victims were identified as Guddi Bai (45), a resident of Chhipabarod in Baran district, her son Salam (22), and brothers Armaan (17) and Yunus Khan (18), residents of Guna district in Madhya Pradesh.

According to police, the victims had traveled to Gugor village to attend a wedding. Around 1 pm, one of the youths allegedly got entangled in a fishing net while bathing in the river and began to drown. In an attempt to save him, the other three entered the water. However, they too were pulled under and drowned, police said.

Hearing their cries for help from the riverbank, locals rushed to the spot and alerted others in the village. Niranjan, a local diver from Gugor and a relative of the deceased, immediately reached the river and launched a search operation with the help of villagers. After strenuous efforts, the rescue team retrieved the bodies from the river. The victims were rushed to the government hospital in Chhabra, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

The incident cast a pall of gloom over the wedding celebrations and left family members and relatives in shock. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are examining the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
