Massive Protests in Paris Against US-Israeli Strikes
Thousands of protesters gathered at Place du Trocadero in Paris on Friday to condemn what they called 'Israeli-U.S. aggression' in Iran and Lebanon. The demonstration honored Iranian and Lebanese citizens killed since the war began in February, with organizers displaying images of schoolgirls allegedly killed in a US airstrike on a school on February 28, 2026.
Vigil for School Bombing Victims
Fatemeh, the vigil organizer, stated: 'This vigil is for the children who were bombed at the school in Minab on the first day of this unjust and inhumane war.' Protesters demanded the French government condemn the US and Israel for their military actions in the Middle East and cease providing support for the strikes.
Demonstrator Adnan Azzam remarked: 'This is a historic war because it is the first time in history—for at least 100 years—that an Eastern country, in this case Iran, and Lebanon, have managed to stand up to American and Israeli arrogance.'
Background of the Conflict
The war began on February 28, 2026, when US Tomahawk missiles struck a school in southern Iran, killing 170 people, mostly schoolgirls. Since then, the conflict has escalated, drawing widespread international criticism. The protests in Paris reflect growing anger among European citizens toward their governments' perceived complicity in the strikes.
Protesters held signs reading 'Shame On European Leaders' and called for an immediate end to the violence. The demonstration is part of a broader wave of global outrage against the military campaign.
