School bus cleaner dies in Jharkhand road accident

A 60-year-old cleaner-cum-helper of a school bus was crushed to death under its wheels when the stationary vehicle was hit by a tipper truck on National Highway 39 at Kadhwan in Daltonganj district on Saturday.

Incident Details

The deceased was identified as Nur Mohammad Ansari, a resident of Dandila village. The school bus was picking up children between 6:30 am and 7:00 am when the incident occurred. Police confirmed that no children on the bus suffered any injury.

Officer Gulshan Birua of Rehla police station stated that the speeding truck driver lost control and hit the parked school bus from behind. Ansari, who was standing near the bus, got crushed under its wheels. “The truck has been seized but the driver managed to flee,” Birua added.

Investigation Underway

Authorities have launched a search for the absconding driver. The vehicle has been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are in progress. The incident has raised concerns about road safety on the busy highway, especially during early morning hours when school buses operate.
