Vijayapura: A tragic road accident occurred at Loni Cross in Chadchan taluk of Vijayapura district on Tuesday, claiming three lives and injuring more than 10 others. The mishap took place when a canter collided with a government bus.
Accident Details
The accident was triggered by a tyre burst of the canter, which caused the driver to lose control. The vehicle then crashed into the bus approaching from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that three individuals died on the spot due to profuse bleeding.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as canter driver Ashok Utagi, his wife Radhabai Utagi, and bus driver Hanumant Chalavadi. All three succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Injured and Rescue Operations
More than 10 bus passengers sustained injuries and were promptly shifted to hospitals in Chadchan and Vijayapura for medical treatment. Police officials, including Chadchan CPI Parashuram Managuli and PSI Somesh Gejji, visited the accident site along with other personnel to oversee rescue efforts.
Legal Action
A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and further investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
