Dindigul: Two guest workers from Bihar lost their lives in a road accident in the early hours of Sunday on the Madurai-Dindigul National Highway. The deceased, identified as Krishna, 22, and Dilshul, 21, worked as construction laborers in Oothupatti.
How the Accident Happened
According to police, the two were traveling towards Oothupatti on a two-wheeler when a government bus, en route from Dindigul to Pallapatti, took a wrong route on the Dindigul-Madurai national highway. The bus had deviated due to a broken-down vehicle near Chinnalapatti.
As the motorcycle approached the Melakkottai Vinayakar temple, the bus, coming from the wrong direction, collided head-on with the two-wheeler. The impact was so severe that both youths sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot before any assistance could reach them.
