Two Bihar Workers Die in Dindigul Wrong-Way Bus Crash

Dindigul: Two guest workers from Bihar lost their lives in a road accident in the early hours of Sunday on the Madurai-Dindigul National Highway. The deceased, identified as Krishna, 22, and Dilshul, 21, worked as construction laborers in Oothupatti.

How the Accident Happened

According to police, the two were traveling towards Oothupatti on a two-wheeler when a government bus, en route from Dindigul to Pallapatti, took a wrong route on the Dindigul-Madurai national highway. The bus had deviated due to a broken-down vehicle near Chinnalapatti.

As the motorcycle approached the Melakkottai Vinayakar temple, the bus, coming from the wrong direction, collided head-on with the two-wheeler. The impact was so severe that both youths sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot before any assistance could reach them.

Police Response and Investigation

Ambathurai police arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies from the mangled remains of the motorcycle, and shifted them to Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
