Chandrapur: Two men were killed instantly after an unidentified vehicle rammed their motorcycle near Asola bus stop on the Bhisi-Shankarpur state highway in Chimur taluka on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 8:30 am when the victims were returning from Vikas village in Irva with wheat and other grains.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as Vikas Jambhule (37), a resident of Titvi, and Amol Nannaware (30), from Shegaon Khurd. Both were riding a motorcycle when a speeding vehicle struck them with tremendous force.

Details of the Collision

The impact of the collision was so severe that both riders were thrown nearly 25 feet off the road, resulting in fatal head and leg injuries. They died on the spot before any medical assistance could arrive.

Police Investigation

Police from Shankarpur outpost under Bhisi police station reached the scene immediately after the incident. They conducted preliminary investigations and have registered a case against the unidentified driver. Authorities are now searching for the vehicle and the driver involved in the hit-and-run.

Local residents have expressed concern over the rising number of accidents on the state highway, urging authorities to install speed breakers and better lighting to prevent such tragedies.
