Baba Ramdev Questions UN and Human Rights Groups Over Middle East Crisis
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has publicly criticized the United Nations and global human rights organizations for their perceived silence regarding the escalating tensions in the Middle East. During a recent visit to Karnal, Haryana, he called upon world leaders to take immediate and decisive steps to ensure peace and halt the ongoing conflict.
Warning of a Potential Third World War
Ramdev expressed grave concerns about the conflict between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other, describing it as pushing the world toward an undeclared third world war. He highlighted the continuous bombing by the US and Israel, coupled with retaliatory missile attacks from Iran, as creating a dangerous situation that extends beyond the Middle East to impact global stability.
"The UN and global human rights organizations are inactive during times of crisis," Ramdev stated during an interaction with media persons at a grain market, where he chaired a Patanjali programme. He emphasized that this inaction undermines efforts to address humanitarian issues and maintain international peace.
Impact on Energy Supplies and Global Stability
Ramdev also addressed the broader implications of the conflict, noting its effect on energy supplies worldwide. He pointed out that many countries are experiencing anxiety over the availability of gas, with growing uncertainty surrounding petrol and diesel supplies. This instability threatens economic and social systems globally.
Furthermore, he highlighted the risks faced by nearly one crore Indians living and working in Gulf and Middle Eastern countries. "Their lives are at risk if the conflict escalates further," he warned, underscoring the human cost of the geopolitical tensions.
Call for Collective Action and Moral Responsibility
Urging heads of all nations to take collective initiative, Ramdev stressed the need for swift action to end the war. He referenced the influence of the United States and President Donald Trump, suggesting that many countries hesitate to speak openly due to the dominance of a global superpower. However, he asserted that humanity and moral responsibility demand an immediate cessation of hostilities.
"World leaders must prioritize peace over political interests," he added, calling for a unified approach to resolve the crisis.
Practical Advice on Energy Conservation
In response to concerns about potential gas shortages, Ramdev advised people to use cooking gas carefully and minimize consumption at home. He mentioned that the government has made arrangements to ensure supply, but cautioned that urban areas might face some difficulties, while rural regions are less likely to experience major problems.
His recommendations include:
- Using gas-efficient cooking methods
- Reducing unnecessary energy usage in households
- Staying informed about government initiatives for supply management
Ramdev's statements come amid increasing global attention on the Middle East crisis, with calls for diplomatic solutions and humanitarian interventions growing louder. His critique adds to the voices urging international bodies to play a more active role in conflict resolution and peacebuilding efforts.
