In Bahrain, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that sirens had been sounded across the country. In a post on X, the ministry stated, "The siren has been sounded... Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place." The warning came as part of broader regional defensive measures.
Kuwait's Armed Forces reported that they are confronting hostile aerial targets within Kuwaiti airspace. The Kuwait Army General Staff explained on X that "any explosion sounds heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile attacks." The military urged the public to adhere to security instructions issued by competent authorities.
Qatar Raises Security Alert Level
Qatar's Ministry of Interior raised the country's security threat level to high for the second time that morning, according to Al Jazeera. Residents were advised to remain inside their homes or in safe places, reflecting the widespread nature of the perceived threat.
IRGC Claims Attack on Omani Port
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran claimed responsibility for a "heavy and surprise" attack on logistics support centres and refuelling platforms used by US aircraft carriers at the Port of Duqm in Oman, as reported by the IRIB state broadcaster. The IRGC's public relations office told IRIB that the sites were "destroyed" in the operation, according to Al Jazeera.
US CENTCOM Conducts Third Round of Strikes
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that it had completed a third round of strikes this week against Iranian forces, citing the need to hold them accountable for attacking another commercial ship in the Strait of Hormuz. In an official statement, CENTCOM said US forces struck approximately 140 Iranian military targets using precision munitions launched from land- and sea-based fighter aircraft, drones, and naval vessels. Targets included missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, ammunition storage facilities, communication networks, and coastal surveillance locations.
